pace Coast Communication Systems, Inc. was formed in 2001 for the purpose of offering to industry cost-effective software solutions. As computational capability drops in both cost ($/MIP) and power consumption (watts/MIP), more and more products will use embedded processors in their designs. This is a well established and documented trend. What has caught much of industry by surprise is that deployment of products having embedded capabilities often exceed target development costs while failing to meet operational expectation. We specialize in the definition and deployment of products containing embedded and/or distributed processors.

Companies have been led to believe that all they have to do is pick up the phone, call "Harry Headhunter" and half a dozen computer science types show up the next day and know exactly what to do to complete the software-based product. This is a lie and we're sorry if your company or project has been the victim of this inferior approach to software-based product development.

We are able to offer software-based product deployment on a cost contained basis because that is all we do. Over and over again for client after client we bring expertise to bear that makes software the solution and not the problem.

CCS prides itself for working at the highest ethical standards. We will provide existing or prospective clients with service that demonstrates our commitment to building long term customer relationships. We will not commit to projects that cannot be fully realized due to unrealistic or incomplete project definition, or that is beyond our expertise or capability. Furthermore, we will comply with all relevant laws, regulations and procedures that govern our activities.

John
For almost two decades, John has been providing innovative software solutions to some of industry's most complex problems. As principal and owner of Space Coast Communication Systems, Inc., Dr. Bard is pleased to offer to industry at large the software design expertise and deployment processes and techniques that have proven so successful throughout his career.

Dr. Bard presides as Technical Committee Chairman of the Software Defined Radio Forum, This international organization is dedicated to supporting the development, deployment, and use of open architectures for advanced wireless systems. Dr. Bard oversees development of an open-source Reference Implementation of the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) and serves as liaison to the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Joint Program Office (JPO), where he is directly responsible for promoting commercial application of the SCA.

A leader in his field, Dr. Bard has been instrumental in the design and realization of CECOM’s (U.S. Army) Joint Tactical Terminal (JTT), Naval Research Laboratory’s JCIT radio, SPAWAR’s (U.S. Navy) Digital Modular Radio (DMR), and the Mnemonics' Inc. Zebra System. Prior to this John helped put the Rockwell Collins Miniaturized Airborne GPS Receiver (MAGR) on the Space Shuttle. And before that he developed the post-flight Radar Analysis software for Joint STARS that is still in use today by the Joint Test Force (JTF).

John's degrees are in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and Florida Tech.
