ur view of intellectual property is summed up simply by the
notion that our clients make widgets and we do not. Software is only one part of a complex formula consisting
of systems engineering, manufacturing expertise, algorithmic know-how, market understanding and creative
perspiration all of which are necessary for deployment of product. If you the client company do not have
control or cognizance over any aspect of the product formula your market is jeopardized. A typical exit
criterion for our job is to make sure you have control of all aspects of the product formula.
Too often corporate intellectual property is unknowingly contained in a scribble on a sheet of paper stuck in someone’s desk. Our process is built around rigorous disclosure of the detailed design, behaviors, performance, rationale, heuristics, and error handling of the system and software elements composed by our team. How often has a contractor team left behind a couple of thousand lines of code that might work, but everyone’s afraid to touch it for fear it might break.
